June 24 post watch

7 steamy negative split miles for me this morning{it was 76 degrees at 4:30 am!}.

I have been drastically changing the way I eat lately – last week left me dragging and tired – this week I have more energy and actually ran the same effort that I usually run on my easy runs but with a faster pace result. I am more convinced than ever that food is a VERY important aspect of running.

After my run, sit ups, a quick shower and breakfast for all – the littles and I headed to the Reston Zoo. I typically take them there once or twice a year because I feel like the price is a tad pricey. Much to my surprise there were new exhibits and plenty of updates from last year. We met friends and it was well worth the money!

If you are local to VA and have little kids I definitely recommend making a day trip there {possibly on a less hot day if you want to really enjoy it for hours}. I’ve been going to the Reston Zoo since I was little and it was called the Pet Farm, so it is really fun taking my children there and reliving some of my childhood memories.  My mom is moving home in a week and I can’t wait for her to pass on all my childhood pictures to me!
