Each and every day I ask my children – Do you know how much I love you?

All the stars in the sky? YES

All the sand on the beach? YES

All the buildings in the world? YES

Chloe, Miles and I have a never ending amount of ways that we find to say I love you.

This weekend I said to them – I LOVE YOU MORE THAN RUNNING.

I didn’t think about it when I said it – I just did.

The more and more I thought about it – I realized just how INSANE my love for them is.

I love stars but if suddenly there weren’t any – I would be okay.

Same with the sand on the beach – I love the beach, it’s one of my favorite places – but if the beach didn’t exist anymore I would be okay.

Take running away from me and I might not be able to function. A cloud of sadness may overwhelm me. I think about running each and every day. Running is constantly on my mind in one way or another. Races, training, blogging, marketing….all aspects of running run through my head.

To say that I love something MORE than running is huge. I would give up running, blogging, racing, training – you name it – for MY CHILDREN.

I love them more than life itself. Those are not just words to me. I literally love them more than life itself and I certainly LOVE THEM MORE THAN RUNNING.

This weekend hubby said – come quick. I jumped up and looked at my peanuts sitting together on the chair watching a movie. BE.STILL.MY.HEART.

I love you more than running - always have - always will

  1. I think that is so beautiful to tell them! It’s something they can see you put so much effort and energy into and that it is your passion. Knowing they are always loved more, and more important is so special. LUCKY kidlets!

  2. That is the cutest picture I have seen in quite a while! You have an adorable little family! :)

  3. Here here, so beautiful :-)

  4. What a sweet post. I think to tell our kids we love them more than something that they know we love is most important. It is easy to say you love them more than something that isn’t really ours or part of their everyday life so they aren’t as tangible to them. But to say to my kids I love you more than coffee, running, chocolate, PB, and…. all the things that they know I truly enjoy on a daily basis, that really hits home to them.

    Great post!

  5. That has “children’s picturebook title” written all over it. Get on that.

  6. Adorable – moments like these make my heart melt!!

My daughter gave my belly a huge hug and said, “I’m hugging baby Waylynn” – he’s not even here and she’s bananas for the kid. Its unreal.

I would do anything for mine as well… I think any mom in her right mind would!

  7. What a beautiful picture!

  9. Thank you for this post. It gives me hope!! See here – http://runforfun-stephanie.blogspot.com/2012/01/amenorrhea-part-ii-hard-choices.html

I know listening to moms like you that giving up running or at least parts of it for now will be worth it!

  10. What a sweet photo! I’m trying to remember to tell my daughter that I love her several times a day… I’m sure the running one was meaningful for them, as they obviously know it’s a passion of yours!

  11. Oh they are so precious!!! Beautiful picture!! I love my babydoll more than running too!! Great post!
