Like I said before I’m a sucker for quotes – I love them – they inspire me – they make me want to be a better person.
I have a card hanging in my closet from one of my very best friends – on the front it says – Be Happy For This Moment – For This Moment is Your Life. A truer statement I could not say right now. With all that is going on in the world today – with the crazy economic situation we are in – with the crumbling housing market and people loosing their jobs – I think we should all take a moment to be happy. Be happy that in spite of all the problems going on in the world – we are still in this world and still have a lot to be thankful for.
I’m a spiritual runner – I feel closest to God when running and racing. We have conversations – I thank Him during every race – thank you that I have legs to run – thank you that I have lungs to breathe – thank you for all you have given me. It’s sad and great that people are going back to the basics (participation in races and in running in general is UP) – finding happiness in the little things in life – it’s sad that it took something such as a recession to bring people back to their roots – but great that we are realizing what really matters.
Running brings me joy – it makes me happy – it makes me healthy – makes me a better person – better mommy – better friend – better wife – it makes me BETTER.
Ralph Waldo Emerson is a favorite of mine and so tonight I leave you with this quote ~ Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow
Off to bed – must rest – 20 tomorrow alone on the WAD
