These legs get sore. They get tired. They get tight. 

When they need a little TLC – I turn to the fabulous Tracey Dugdale. Tracey who happens to be a friend of the awesome MissLesleyRuns [my mom] is a massage therapist. The reason I bring her up is because literally [not exaggerating] think she is the best massage therapist I  have ever seen. There is nothing Swedish about her massages – she knows runners and knows how to help them.

Reasons why I like Tracey:

#3. Tracey works muscles I never even knew I had – ummm hello tiny ab muscle
#4. I literally chat her head off during every massage session. Who said massages were supposed to be quiet? I pick her brain on training, massage therapy, stretching – you name it. How do you think I know so much about running. I ask questions from the best of the best.
#5 Tracey not only runs but climbs. She understands the importance of cross training in order to be a better athlete.

I will personally vouch for Tracey. If you go to her you will probably never get a massage from anyone else again. Pretty sure some of my readers who go to her as well would agree!

I digress.

There is a session being held Monday nights starting this Monday 10/10/11 on lower body stretching and I’m signed up. I’d love company! Who wants to join me?

With the routine of these small classes where we will teach and practice specific flexibility stretches, we hope that you will be inspired to incorporate them into your daily activities at work or at home so you may move through life with more ease and less pain!
 
Upcoming: Lower Body Classes to begin on October 10th at 6 pm. 

                    Upper Body Classes to begin on October 11th at 12 noon.

Learn and practice how to reduce postural tightness, reduce the risk of muscle injury, optimize range of motion and more! Our upper body class focuses on shoulder, neck, arm, wrist and hand flexibility.  Ward off common problems such as carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow, neck strain and TMJ syndrome with these specific stretches. Our lower body class focuses on the legs, hips, back and feet. Address lower back pain, maintain good circulation in your feet and address common foot and leg problems.

The entire series of FIVE classes costs ONLY $125! Otherwise class are normally $50 each.
A stretching rope will be provided along with other stretching tools, but students should bring a stretching mat for the lower body class and dress appropriately.

  1. First off, you REALLY have the best massage therapist!! Who knows how to treat runners better than a fellow runner?! I wish we had someone like that where I live… :-)

    Also, that stretching class sounds great. I recently purchased a Yoga for Runners DVD to help me in this area. I think I would have enjoyed this class more!
