16 marathons over 8 years has taught me that you ALWAYS wear less on race day than you want to.

Here is a great article on the best temperature for a marathon! http://www.poweringmuscles.com/Sports-Science-11,Cold_Weather_Best_For_Marathon_Performance.html

Here is what I will be wearing on Sunday.

Saucony shorts and a sports bra. I’m bringing my hat if it gets cold (I doubt it will) and arm warmers for the same reason. I will wear cotton t-shirts at the start and take them off before I start running or in the first miles. On my arms will be my Garmin, my Road ID and my Endorphin Warrior *strength* training bracelet.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that MissLesleyRuns got me a cool Saucony hat like this one signed by Molly Huddle. In which case I’ll be wearing that instead of my Sparkly Soul Headband! Have I mentioned that Saucony has FREE shipping online right now for a limited time?

On my feet will be the Saucony Kinvara 2.

In an hour I’ll be leaving on our 7+ hour drive with my whole little family. This will be the first marathon I’ve run that they will all be there! I am blessed.

So so excited! If you are running what do you plan on wearing?

Good Luck to everyone racing this weekend!

Excellent outfit, Dorothy. Hope to see you there – but you are WAY faster than me so I doubt it. But regardless, have fun and you will do AWESOME! I'm planning on wearing a loose tank (unless I find a better tank at the expo), teal shorts (from gap), and my pink Saucony Kinvara 2s. They are my magic shoes. :)

  16. Rachel McPhillips says:

Good Luck!! My goal in life is to be able to rock a sports bra and compression shorts for a race. :)

  17. dumb question: when you race in a sports bra, do you put your bib on the bra or your shorts? I've contemplated doing it for some shorter (painfully warmer) races, and was torn on what to do.

With that being said, DESTROY YOUR RACE this weekend. Good luck girl.

  18. Allison says:

I always get cold before the race so it is hard to remember that I will be warmer later! I usually wear shorts and a t-shirt.
