My early morning runs under the stars have been reminding me that fall is just around the corner. It is cooler in the mornings than when I was running with the stroller so it’s given me a chance to test of some of the new gear from Saucony’s Fall 2012 line.
One of my instant favorites from the line is the Kinvara Graphic Long Sleeve which is essentially just a long sleeve version of my favorite short sleeve Saucony shirts that I have been wearing for years.

The shirt feels like your favorite worn in cotton t-shirt but wicks like a running shirt. It says its semi fitted but I find that it’s only semi fitted through the body – the sleeves are fitted – meaning if you think your arms are either larger than normal or very muscular I would size up. I ordered a small and honestly there is no way I could even get an XS on if I tried even though I am XS in some of Saucony’s other shirts. It says that it is pre-shrunk and it is. I’ve washed mine a handful of times and put them in the drier and they still fit the same. The sleeves are a bit longer than normal running shirts which I really like and the length in the body is fantastic.
When running it doesn’t ride up at all and won’t flash your stomach or back. All in all I think it’s an awesome shirt. I think it is fairly priced at $28. I’ve been wearing them to run in but I plan on ordering a couple more to keep as shirts to wear around because they are THAT comfortable.
8 recovery miles this morning felt awesome. I wanted to hit snooze but reminded myself that I ALWAYS feel better after a run.
- Mile 1: 9:13
- Mile 2: 8:26
- Mile 3: 8:37
- Mile 4: 8:14
- Mile 5: 8:24
- Mile 6: 8:16
- Mile 7: 8:16
- Mile 8: 7:48
I’m at 40 miles for the week already and plan on this being my highest mileage week so far this training cycle. I’m realizing more and more that everything in life is about priorities. For too long I think I made talking about my running a priority and while I do love talking about running it takes away time from actually running – less talking/writing has meant more time in other areas. I still don’t feel like I have any *free time* but hopefully with my new – I can’t say yes to everything anymore outlook on life – I hope that will soon change.
