How long have you been running: 5 years
Favorite race distance and why: The marathon. I love everything about it. I love my long runs during training. Sometimes I’ll just get lost in the moment, and the next thing I know I’ve ran 10 miles without even realizing. I love the discipline it takes to train. I love that it not only challenges you physically, but even more so mentally. I love the feeling of crossing the finish line, and already thinking about what my next race is going to be.

How did you get into running: I’ve been an athlete in some field, since I was about 7 years of age. Ranging from swimming competitively, to playing basketball for my country (England) and Great Britain in the European Youth Olympic Games. Running became my passion about 5 years ago when I realized I needed to be doing something to keep me in shape during college. I started small, 2 to 3 mile runs, and built up to more like 5 or 6 miles. I suddenly realized how much I enjoyed running, and decided that I was going to sign up for the Madison Wisconsin marathon. I finished that marathon in 3:51:58…….from that moment on I was hooked! :)
What accomplishment are you most proud of: Qualifying for the Boston Marathon.
Favorite Quote: “Running is something that no one can do for you. You own it and can make it what you want”
Favorite Race: Has to be the Boston Marathon. The feeling I got when I qualified, the atmosphere, the course, the people. Everything about it was just amazing.
