There were many things that went wrong during marathon #24 and a few things I did wrong AHEM overdressing but there were some things I did right!

I use body glide on every single run. It doesn’t matter how much I weigh, my thighs rub. It doesn’t matter what sports bra I wear, I always end up chaffing on long runs. I consider myself a sweaty person {had to use prescription antiperspirant at one point in my life – YIKES} who deals with her chaffing by preventing as much as possible. When Run Guard wrote me and asked if I wanted to try their glide I was a willing tester.

They say NO new things on race day.

I say NO new things on race day. Yet for some reason I felt that I could ignore this rule after 23 marathons and didn’t think anything different would affect me. Trying a new form of gel for a marathon – not a good idea – trying a new glide turned out to be a FINE idea.

Even when I used Body Glide EVERYWHERE during marathons I still end up chaffing to a degree.

I used RunGuard Glide for #24 and was MORE than pleasantly surprised that I didn’t chafe anywhere. How is that possible? Not one single bit of chaffing after 26.2 over dressed, sweaty miles.

I’m a believer.

If you use Body Glide or another glide to help prevent chaffing you might like Run Guard as much as I did. I wasn’t unhappy with the glide I was using before but I will definitely be purchasing this brand from now on!

  2. I chafe like crazy, even with glide (I actually have a scar on my back). I’ll definitely have to check this brand out because I’m pretty desperate for anything that will help.

  3. I have really sensitive skin but have only had one or two bad chafing problems. I have some basic bodyglide but if I need anything stronger I might try this.

  6. I always use Body Glide, but I’m certainly willing to try Run Guard, especially since you gave it such a good review. I’ll check at my local running store next time I’m there. Chaffing season will soon be upon us!
