If you read my post yesterday all about what I do the week leading up to a marathon you may remember that I said I try to get as much finished on my to-do list as possible.  My to do list includes not so fun things like catch up on ironing, but also includes fun things like finish such and such book you are reading.

Today when I checked the race website to see the countdown clock, it said 4 days 11 hours.  4/11 is my birthday.  I smiled.  Thank you God.

Just a few moments ago I finished reading a book that was on my to do list.  Life Promises For Success, by Jim Tressel.  I’ve been reading this little nugget of a book for a couple of weeks now, so I wanted to finish up the last 25 pages or so.  When I turned the page to see page 193 I started to cry.

Dream Big.

The first part of my mantra was staring back at me.

Dream Big – Run Long.

If there were ever a time to dare, to make a difference, to embark on something worth doing, it is now. Not for any grand cause, necessarily — but for something that tugs at your heart, something that’s your aspiration, something that’s your dream.

You owe it to yourself to make your days here count.
Have fun.
Dig deep.

Dream big….

Believe in the incredible power of the human mind.
Of doing something that makes a difference.
Of working hard.
Of laughing and hoping.
Of lazy afternoons.
Of lasting friends.
Of all the things that will cross your path this year.
The start of something new brings the hope of something great.
Anything is possible.
There is only one you.
And you will pass this way only once.
Do it right.

May your races this year be as amazing for you as you DREAM them to be.

Thank you God. I believe and I am dreaming big.

Great post! It gave me chills.

So far this year has been amazing me in many ways. Not experiecce that everyone would view as positive but experiences to learn and grow from. I look forward to the person this year is helping me to become!
