I want to share my latest news!

Run Like A Mother picked me to be their Follow This Mother last week.

When I read my answers to their questions online, I cried.  It was one of those moments when you realize something about yourself.  Who I am can be summed up into four words – I am a runner.

When did you first decide you were *officially* a runner?

For me it's a question I usually answer, "I like to run." But it says so much more that the person I am talking to doesn't really want to stick around to hear. You know, like those people who you see in passing and they ask how you are and you quickly reply, "Fine. And You?" but you both really just keep going about your days?!
I like to run says I care about my health. That I prioritize some of each day to taking care or me. It says that I am teaching my family and friends the importance of doing the same for themselves. It says that I love being outdoors in nature amoung the trees. It says I stop to pick up newts and salamanders and move them off the road. It says I notice when the trees bring to change long before others because I take a closer longer look. It says that I am dedicated and comitted to the things I set out to do in life. It says that if I am your friend I'll stick by you and encourage you along life's way. Its says that I want to be here for a long time. I want to see my children grow and teach these same things to their children.
Yeah, I think most "runners" say quite a lot when we say, "Oh yeah, I am a runner."

….just sometimes others don't care to listen to it all. 😉

I decided that I was a runner when I ran my first marathon with my husband his brother and my ex-sister in law. The three of them were collegiate athletes but I bet them all. I knew then that I could do it and I was a runner.Found you last week on RLAM.

Fantastic, Dorothy! You have seriously achieved celeb status! Even random "fans" calling out your name at races! Thanks for being so nice! hahahaha….enjoy! I am only NOW starting to feel like a runner. I have race fever. So now that I'm voraciously surfing google for different races, race advice, etc….I think that makes me a "runner," right?? A slow one, albeit, but a runner no less. :)
