When did you first decide you were a runner: I posted some running photos of myself on MySpace and random runners started to send me friend requests because I was “a runner.” Once I realized that other people saw me as a runner, then I started to see myself as one.
Congrats on your recent marriage. How did you find/make time to run while planning a wedding: My husband and I run together! We do all of our runs first thing in the morning, before work. All of the wedding planning was done after work and on weekends.
You are running the NYC Marathon this year for charity. How did you decide what charity you wanted to run for: I entered both my husband and myself into the lottery and he was accepted and I wasn’t. I really wanted to run it with him, so that’s when I decided to run for a charity. I chose the Central Park Conservancy because my father was raised in Manhattan, in a building facing Central Park. He played in the park often as a child. While visiting my grandparents as a child I also would play there. Central Park is the finish line of NYC marathon and I wanted to do something that was relevant to the race itself.
Accomplishment you are most proud of: My first marathon. I have run 10 marathons, each faster than my first. I am however most proud of my first, because I took a huge leap of faith and believed in myself. It was also the one that hurt the most!
