The celebration of Miles’s 3rd year took place this year on Easter Sunday! Three years ago my first little man entered my life. My life has been immeasurably better ever since.

Colton woke me up at 5am so I went for my first post Boston Marathon run. 8 lovely miles in perfect weather. It was a blessing. While I ran I thought about Christ dying on the cross, the gift of salvation, the gift of my son Miles, and how thankful I am that 6 days post Boston my body was giving me 8 miles, 7 of which were in the 8 minute pace range. I had allot to be thankful for yesterday.

We hosted Easter for the first time at our house! An Easter egg hunt in our back yard, complete with our growing baby bunnies. We attempted to count them yesterday and counted five in the hole, though my husband thinks one more may have been hiding under the pile of them.

Despite my attempts at trying to convince Miles that he would much rather a red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting [can’t blame me for trying], we chowed down on a chocolate cake with chocolate icing and sprinkles. The birthday boy couldn’t have been happier.

Everytime Miles opened a present he loved he would say “me always wanted [insert present name] – thank you – this is my faaaaaavorite” Present giving is even more enjoyable when it truly makes the recipients day. Chloe pulled me aside at one point to tell me she too was having a really great day.

All in all I could not have asked for a better day and I’m pretty sure everyone else would agree with me!
