I get obsessed with things very easily. My husband calls it the *Chipotle Effect*

When I find something I love I go ALL in.

There was a period of time when I loved Chipotle. I loved it so much I ate it twice a day almost 5 days a week. [You can imagine what this did to my waistline.] Then one day I woke up and I HATED Chipotle. I never wanted to go there again. Hubby says it’s because I overdo things.

I think it’s because I become obsessed/addicted to things very easily. Those that I truly love stand the test of time[running] and others like Chipotle come and go.

I now can only stand to eat Chipotle about once a month, in case you were wondering.

For the past couple of months I’ve been addicted to Yogi Tea. I thought my love would pass, but it hasn’t. Which means it’s here to stay. I literally have not tried one that I don’t love.

What makes the tea even better is the little saying on the tea bag. Tea and food for thought all in one – YES PLEASE.

If you like tea and haven’t tried Yogi – I highly recommend it. [drinking some now as I type this post up]

Running this week:

10 easy treadmill miles yesterday. I loved reflecting on the fact that 10 miles seemed like an impossible distance once – now it’s an easy mid-week run.

16 long run treadmill miles today. Baby C woke up early so I did pre-school drop off this morning. Baby C then went down for a nap and I hopped on the treadmill to get my long run out of the way.[Miles and Chloe were at school] I’m single parenting it right now and was stressed about having to rely on friends in order to get this run in. I’m thankful I had not one but three different friends willing to help me out! Friends who run are simply awesome because they understand when you FREAK OUT about not being able to fit a long run in.

  3. I went through a similar sweet potato phase. I ate one or two a day, EVERY day, for months on end. Then one day I was at the store to get more, and I couldn’t even look at them. They seemed disgusting. I haven’t liked them since.

    I am praying I don’t develop an aversion to my daily oatmeal!

    I did the same thing with sweet potato’s too! I had them at lunch and dinner almost 5 days a week for a month or 2. I still like them but not as much :( I wish I could just do things I like in moderation so I didn’t end up hating them…..

  6. I used to be obsessed w/ Tazo Zen Green Tea — drank it every morning for about 3 years. Then I just stopped? Not sure how that happened but you have me craving some tea! I have not tried Yogi tea yet…

  7. I bought my first box of Yogi Tea last week on sale at Kroger–Vanilla Spice Perfect Energy. I love it! I’ve been so worn out in the mornings at work after my morning runs that I actually started drinking coffee (I can only do so with a little coffee in my creamer and Splenda), so this is a better alternative. My saying this morning was rather perfect for a big career decision I have to make in the next day or two: “May you have faith in your worth and act with wisdom.”

  11. My best friend got me hooked on yogi tea last year. It is awesome!!! I love reading the little quotes every morning. I even made a collage out of some of them. Good stuff!

  13. I get pretty obsessed with things, too, and just can’t get enough of it. Current obsession: Soul Cycle!

  14. I’m a coffee guy- been obsessed with it for about 6 years now. We have a Keurig for brewing with about 12-14 boxes of coffee, tea, cocoa, hot cider, iced tea and iced coffee. We have a problem (my wife is part of this, too..she started it!!!) but it is a problem we enjoy. I end up with 3-5 cups a day. I used 40 cal a serving almond milk (I use abt 1/6th of that) and 1 tbsp of sugar, so calories stay low.

    You’re a champ for doing long runs on the DM! I can’t do that at all (we don’t even have a DM). Enjoy your run! I have 10 for tomorrow (thanks to Grandma since the wife is in Vegas for a week!)

  15. I’m SUCH an “overdoer”. I go hard on something, and then never want to look at it ever again.

    I even got like that with peanut butter one time. That was a sad day. But I’ve recovered :) thank goodness.

    In Canada, we have this brand of tea called David’s Tea. Brilliant. Full of all kinds of amazing flavours that taste like dessert but have 0 calories. I currently have a box of lime gelato flavoured green tea and a mint chocolate roobois stashed in my desk at work. I don’t know how they do it – it’s all natural, no additives. Fantastic!
