Vega Energizing Smoothie according to Vega:

Energize your day with a convenient, on-the-go nutrient boost. Energizing Smoothie gives you the all-natural, plant-based goodness you expect from Vega—compete with protein, fiber and Omega-3—but unlike traditional smoothies, you only need water to shake and go. In four mouth-watering flavors: mixed tropical fruits, chocolate, vanilla almond and berries (plus an unflavored natural), Energizing Smoothie is so delicious it will make you forget how healthy it is.

One serving of Vega Energizing Smoothie features

  • Two servings of veggies
  • 10 g of complete, plant-based protein
  • 5 g of fiber
  • 1 g of Omega-3

Just add water, shake and go!

Formulated by Brendan Brazier, vegan professional Ironman triathlete and bestselling health author on plant-based nutrition, Vega Energizing Smoothie is alkaline-forming, free from dairy, gluten and soy, and contains no added sugar, artificial flavors, colors or sweeteners. Available in Bodacious Berry, Choc-a-lot, Oh Natural, Tropical Tango and Vanilla Almondilla flavors.

My thoughts:

I wish I had tried Vega products sooner. I can’t tell you how many people have recommended them to me, yet I still was unsure whether I would like them. I should have listened and gotten on the Vega bandwagon earlier.

I’ve been drinking the Vega Protein Recovery shake from GNC every single day after my runs and can tell a significant difference in how fast I am recovering from my workouts and runs.

The smoothie, like the protein powder, did not disappoint.

My favorite was Vanilla Almondilla! I love the taste of Almond so much so that when I make chocolate chip cookies and it calls for vanilla extract, I use almond instead. This shake was like dessert and was BEYOND DELICIOUS. I mixed mine with vanilla soy milk for an extra creamy treat. There are often products I test that I like but that I wouldn’t necessarily go out and buy on a regular basis. I WILL BE BUYING this shake. I love it.  NOTE: I’ve read reviews of people who hated this flavor. I think it comes down to personal preference and if you like the taste of almond then this is the flavor for you.

Choc-a-lot was my next favorite. It tastes like dessert as well. I will be buying more of this flavor too!

Bodacious Berry, Oh Natural, and Tropical Tango are good. The OH Natural is very plain – so if you like that – this is the flavor for you. The berry and tropical flavor both tasted like a smoothie I could have made for myself with fruit. The only positive to the energizing smoothie over something I would make myself is convenience and calories. It’s low calorie and I can throw the packet in my purse and mix with water and drink any time.

Overall I HIGHLY recommend these smoothies!

  1. i’m definitely going to look into these. i have celiac, so obviously i have to avoid gluten, but i also have dairy and soy intolerances as well. it makes finding on-the-go/convenient fueling options a bit challenging!

  2. I have the performance protein powder in chocolate and I have to gag it down. I keep trying different ways to mix it hopefully finding one that I like.
I do want to try these though.

  3. Thanks for the review! I always try to make smoothies for recovery after runs, but obviously cannot do this when away from home. I think I will try these for the convenience factor. Also, I LOVE the smell and taste of almond so am super excited to give that a try.

  4. I love the pre-drink and the recovery drink. Amazing products! I will be looking for the shake! Thank you

  5. I use the Vega chocolate protein powder after my long runs, I find I can tolerate it better than whey protein. I haven’t tried the smoothies, but the vanilla almond sounds delicious. I’ll have to try it next.

  6. Just picked up a packet of the chocolate at Whole Foods today. I like that it is plant based protein instead of whey. Excited to have a new recovery drink after long runs!

I think I saw your Instagram of the Vanilla Almondilla shake you made and it prompted me to pick up a packet of that and the Tropical on my last trip to Sprouts. I have yet to try the Vanilla but the Tropical was my afterworkout/second breakfast treat on Monday and it was soooo good. I threw it in a blender with water, frozen banana and a little frozen pineapple. The little packets are so convenient, especially for my busy lifestyle, but they are too pricey. So I guess I’ll go for the full size bag and try to give myself a little extra time in the mornings to make them up.

  8. Thanks for sharing this! I’ve been trying to find a protein powder without soy, gluten or dairy and it’s a challenge!

  9. Rosalee says:

I have been using Nutribiotic Brown Rice Protein but find this a lot better. The only change I would make is to use unsweetened almond milk since these smoothies have stevia in them, almond vanilla being my favorite.
Yesterday I found the berry and the chocolate also, but I know I will stick with almond vanilla………just amazing flavor
    HIGHLY recommend.

I am gluten, dairy and egg intolerant and cannot stand soy so this works like a champ
I think you will love it

  11. you are in reality a good webmaster. The site loading velocity
is incredible. It kind of feels that you’re doing any unique trick.
Furthermore, The contents are masterpiece. you have performed a excellent activity on this matter!

  12. A vacuum cleaner is the most reliable of cleansing tools;
it can also be the more costly. You will find several different sorts
of vacuum with several different characteristics. Therefore before you buy a top rated vacuum-cleaner make
sure you understand what kind of vacuum cleaner is best for your
    own needs.

Pick the best hoover can be confounding. To help make things better you ought
to know what the various types of hoover are, what the principal attributes you’re able to find on a hoover, and want you
type of flooring you’re going to be utilizing a vacuum cleaner on.
