Mornings are very hectic at our house. I wake up in the 5’s to get 3 kids fed, dressed and ready to take my daughter to school. We leave the house a tad after 7 am and drive 40 minutes in rush hour traffic, 5 days a week. There is no time for messing around or elaborate breakfasts. I do however like to start the morning with something healthy to get my metabolism going and fuel me for the day.

This quick and easy shake is delicious and nutritious – a great start to any day.

Spectrum Organic Flaxseed from Whole Foods

Organic Vanilla Soy Milk from Trader Joe’s
Fill the bottom of a Magic Bullet Blender cup with crushed ice. Add one pealed banana in pieces and 2 tablespoons of the Flaxseed.
Fill the cup with the soy milk.

 YUM!
Ready to drink – at home or on the road!

What healthy foods do you like to eat for breakfast?

  1. Looks yummy! Recently, I've been loving vanilla yogurt with Bob's Red Mill Old Muesli and some cut up apple chunks. These are good, too—> http://edibleperspective.com/2010/12/melty-gooey-chewy-bananer-oat-goodness/

  2. Yum, we love shakes in our house! We like to add some peanut butter :)

  3. Looks yummy! Only difference is I sometimes add herbalife powder or peanut butter:)

  4. My kids and I love to have shakes for breakfast. Quick and very little mess to clean up when you have young children. I like to use:
    Frozen blueberries
    Oats
    Organic Natural Yogurt
    Milk
1 tsp Honey or 2 fresh dates (for a little sweetness)
    Thanks

For breakfast, I usually love either oatmeal or Greek yogurt with fruit & some granola. If we have smoothies, then I use almond milk, fruit, and add in chocolate Shakeology powder.

I love a good comment!
