Race You Are Currently Training For: Boston Marathon
Race Advice/Tip: Trust your training, trust your taper and believe in yourself.
Favorite Pre-Race Food: I like pizza the night before a race. Race morning I eat an english muffin with peanut butter and a banana.
Favorite Post-Race Food: Pancakes!
How did you get into running: I was bored with my workout schedule and wanted a new challenge, so I signed up for a marathon even though the furthest I had ran at the time was 3 miles!
How do you find/make time to train with a full time job, a husband, two dogs and two cats: Prioritize and multi-task.
Do you like running alone or with friends: Both! I definitely enjoy my alone time but also like to catch up with my friends during a run.
Favorite Race and Why: Healdsburg Wine Country Half Marathon. It is at the end of October and runs through the most beautiful wine country in Northern California. The vines are so bright and colorful and you can smell the harvest as you are running through the vineyards. The course winds through back roads with rolling hills so you can never see too far out in front of you. There is also wine tasting at the finish.
Top results are reached only through pain. But eventually you like this pain. You’ll find the more difficulties you have on the way, the more you will enjoy your success – Juha “the Curel” Vaatainen
Favorite Book: I am currently reading “26 Miles to Boston” and I have a feeling it will be my favorite running book when I am done.
