Running a marathon is similar to when you have a baby – you really find out how many people care and love about you.

The outpouring of love I have gotten this week has been amazing. I read each and every comment on this blog and take all of your words to heart. They get me through tough workouts and I know they will help get me through tough moments tomorrow.

What you don’t see in the comments are the people who love me who know me in *real* life. I think it’s one thing to be liked for who you are and what your words are on a screen but it’s another thing for people to interact with you on a weekly basis and still love you. These are the people who listen to me drop the f bomb when I am having a very bad day or forgive me when I do something to annoy them, these are the people I call when I need someone to watch two kids because I need to rush to the emergency room with kid three.

I got this letter in my mail box this morning and to say I am thankful for these words is simply not enough.

I did not truly understand cards or homemade gifts till later in life. I thought you showed someone you loved them by spending $$ on them you didn’t really have to spend. What I have learned is that a gift is not about the $$ but about the thought and more importantly the time that goes in to something. As a marathon training mom of three time is precious commodity and I know it’s the same way for most of the women I know. Taking the time to sign a good luck card means more to me than any $1,000 gift ever could.

Thanks Ladies!!!
