How long have you been running: 10 years
Favorite race distance and why: 10 miles. If I had time to run 10 miles daily I really would and yet I have never done a 10 mile race. For me racing has always been secondary to the joy I get from simply having the ability to run.
How many marathons have you run: 6 marathons!
Where you started to where you are now: When I started running every step hurt and I would let myself off the hook by creating phantom pains…now I love to find out just what my limits actually are by working through those mental barriers that always come up!! I have successfully conquered concerns over distance so 2012 is about conquering my speed demons.
How did you get into running? It truly started as a way to burn calories, but shifted almost immediately into an amazing sense of satisfaction for doing something that does not come naturally to me.
What accomplishment are you most proud of: Every step truly makes me happy, it sounds ridiculous but 1 mile or 26 and I’m happy. So my proudest moments are really when I hear from readers or friends that something I said helped them have a better run.
How do you make time to run? I taught myself how to be a morning runner because I know that life can so easily get in the way if I put if off. Luckily for me it was a fairly easy switch and since I love to run there is no better way to start my day.
