Runner, dreamer, marathoner x24, mommy of 3, Women's Running Magazine cover model, published writer, Saucony contributing blogger, running coach, and lover of all things running. I Run This Body.

I’m really into indie music-since I’ve discovered there is a whole channel dedicated to it on XM radio. They have a lot of upbeat songs-that haven’t been overplayed on the radio. Thanks for sharing!!

My recent favorites are Titanium (David Guetta), The Fighter (Gym Class Heroes), and Girl on Fire (Alicia Keys). They helped me PR in the Shamrock 8k I ran yesterday.
Been following your blog for a while, but have never commented, but I’ve been thinking a lot about your “I run this body” mantra the past few days, and wrote about it on my blog yesterday. I’ve been working tremendously hard the past few years, and it’s paid off – I’ve managed to PR at all race distances and get a BQ (running it this year!), something I never thought I’d get. But over the past year I’ve also been dealing with a bizarre condition called exercise-induced anaphylaxis – I have scary anaphylactic reactions during some of my runs, and unfortunately it seems to be a completely random, very mysterious condition for which there’s really no cure. Luckily it doesn’t happen often, but it really sinks me into depression when it does happen, which it did this past weekend (causing me to cut short a long training run) and again this morning after a speed workout on the treadmill. Not sure why I’m spilling all this here, but I guess it’s just to say thanks for the inspiration as I struggle to feel like I do run this body, even though there are times when I very clearly don’t – it’s a tough thing for me to come to terms with. Thank you for continually providing inspiration and so many wise, thoughtful words – I truly enjoy each and every one of your blog posts, and I always feel stronger and more centered after reading them : )
