How oh how have 6 years of my life gone by this fast? It seems like forever ago I found out I was expecting a little person in my life yet it seems like just yesterday she was born.
Last night as I felt some life growing pains of my own, my dearest friend Claire reminded me that 6 years ago my life was about to change for the better. Life rarely goes according to my plans but that is exactly what has made my life worth living.
This morning I sit here sweaty from an 8 mile run, listening to the sounds of darkness and the early morning, reflecting on all that my daughter is and all that she will become. My life path was altered by her in the best of ways. I am who I am because of her. It sounds cheesy – it sounds cliche – but it is true. I would not be me or where I am at in life if she wasn’t here.
I am a stronger, happier person because of her.
I truly hope one day when she is a mother she looks back on our time together fondly – for it is then that she will only truly understand how much I LOVE her and how she means MORE than the world to me.
The accomplishment I am most proud of in my life is being her mother. It is my dream *job* It is better than any marathon finish and sweeter than any PR.

Your making me cry:-) My daughter Sophia was the same life-altering gift. She was unplanned, but the timing was perfect. God knew. And my life, the woman I am, would be so different without her. She’s 2 1/2 now and six seems so far away…but we’ll be there soon.
What a beautiful tribute! I feel like I’ve been reading a lot of newspaper articles lately about how kids make life harder/less happy/worse, so it was refreshing to read this. It makes me excited to have kids of my own some day
