My mind goes 100 miles an hour when I’m running. Thought after random thought flits through my head…..
- Today’s run was extra awful. 6 miles pushing both boys in the heat, humidity and up and down hills just wasn’t fun. There was no breeze and I seriously wanted to quit every single darn mile.
- Stopping at mile 5 to get Starbucks made the run a little better. Note: I am not one bit embarrassed walking into Starbucks in a sports bra dripping sweat. Just pretend I’m wearing a shirt if it bothers you.
- I am however embarrassed when I walk in the grocery store in a sports bra and it’s FREEZING. Not an attractive look. BUT hey – I needed apples and didn’t want to have to drive to the store.
- I’ve had a pretty good week workout wise
- Monday I ran 3 easy miles on the treadmill as a warm up for kettlebell swings with my RKS Workout DVD. Today is the first day that I am not walking funny from being so sore. Never underestimate workout DVD’s – you can get a legit workout from them.
- Tuesday I ran 8 miles pushing baby C. Was trying to run out the soreness from Monday – didn’t happen.
- Wednesday I woke up sore again – so I took a rest day.
- Thursday was Miles’s last day of pre-school – so Colton and I headed out for our last solo run together for awhile. I ran Garmin-less – it was terrible [I'll be posting more about this later] – I’m guessing we ran 7 miles. Yes I did cry at Miles’s school and I’ve actually gotten teary eyed a couple of times today about it.

- We leave for the beach tomorrow and I couldn’t be HAPPIER. I can’t believe it’s been exactly a year since we were all there last. I also can’t believe everything that has happened in the past year. It’s seriously unreal and beyond anything I could have imagined. Sure I have some pretty crappy days – more often than I’d like to admit – but overall days like today really help me to take a step back and remember EVERYTHING awesome that has happened. I need to dwell less on the negative and rely more on the positive to get me through rough patches.
- I’ve been drinking ZICO Coconut Water and Eruption Energy Drink and am really enjoying both of them. I feel WAY more hydrated than I normally do.
- I got my Believe I Am Training Journal in the mail today. BE JEALOUS. It beyond rocks. I don’t often tell people that they NEED to buy something but if you are a journal type girl – YOU NEED TO BUY THIS. I have one of their sweatshirts and LOVE it.

- My Road Noise Vest came today and I was jumping for joy! L.I.T.E.R.A.L.L.Y – can’t wait to wear this bad boy on stroller runs. It will be nice to have a little something to help keep me motivated. [I don't listen to music with headphones on stroller runs for safety reasons - if you do - that's great - not judging - I just think IT'S NOT SAFE for me and my kids
] - I’m on instagram now! Are you? Shoe pictures are my current favs! mileposts is my user name if you want to follow!

Our minds race a 100 mikes a minute on runs too!! Still so impressed with all your different runs pushing kids in jogging strollers!
@LifeisaRun
It’s nice having them with me for company!
Awww thanks
Love the post. Good stuff, D!
Nice post Dorothy! I can sooooooo feel your pain on the heat & humidity we are already feeling like July here in Florida. Have a great time at the Outer Banks!! And yes I am on Instagram @FLRunnerBoy
@FLRunnerBoy
The heat wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t so darn humid! The handles on the stroller were went when I started because of the humidity. I can’t even imagine living in Florida!
Gross. You not wearing a shirt should be OUR problem. It’s called being considerate. These eatablishments also have rules. You are supposed to wear a shirt. I though you wanted to be an inspiration to your kids.
Sounds pretty inconsiderate to walk into stores like that. I believe they have dress codes.
great post… love the randomess. and YES! Shoe pictures rock.
@PavementRunner
[running shoe ones are obv my fav
] Have a great weekend!
Glad you agree
Have an awesome time at the beach!!!!
@xlmic
Thank you!!! xoxo
I love that you go into the grocery store and starbucks in your sports bra. Do you ever notice people looking? I never think to run errands while on a run, but what a great idea! Multi-tasking to the extreme!
@comfyconfident
There really aren’t very many people at either place during the day though other than other moms and dads
I do notice people looking when I am running with the stroller but that just may be that people tend to stare at runners anyways. Who knows! I just like getting my errands done and it’s easier than geting everyone in the car.
I don’t notice! Occasioanlly people will ask me if it’s hot outside or if the sun has come out – etc – mostly weather related
I love that sweatshirt!!! I love the length, I’m tall and things are always short. I also really love those kinvaras- I may be justifying buying a pair soon, even though I REALLY don’t need another pair of sneaks. Have a great time on vacation!!
That sweatshirt is adorable! I am so glad to know that I’m not the only person with random thoughts on a run. When I would run with my dad, I started voicing those random thoughts. Some made no sense and would just give us both a good laugh. Some actually made some sense. I never thought to literally run errands. That’s a good idea =)
Instigram rocks. And yes, I agree with you – the beach sounds amazing this time of year.
I love your blog and am inspired by your spirit. One thought, though, as regards this post; it’s great to feel comfortable in your own skin, but to me it would be an act of kindness to put on a shirt before entering a public place, out of consideration to others. A sports bra is, after all, still a bra and keeping in mind how our choices affect others is important.
Thanks for your thoughts Ruth
I’m in Starbucks for maybe a total of 5 minutes – I bring the drink home – it’s easier than packing the little people up after a run. NO ONE has ever once complained or even given me a second look. Hope you are enjoying your week.
LOVE the training journal! I might have to get one myself, and the sweatshirt looks super comfy!
I haven’t taken on jogging with the girls (5 & 3)…yet. I have actually gotten very well acquainted with the sounds of the outdoors on my runs…I actually tried running with my iPod the other day and it just wasn’t happening.I will tell you, you’re smart for running headphone-less with the kids. I’d be the same way.
