What are you doing October 2nd, 6th, 7th or 8th? Busy those days? Considing helping me by blogging!
I am the Director of Volunteers for a local Virginia 5K race called the Anthem Great Pumpkin 5K and we [okay ME] NEED volunteers. I have this GRAND idea that local bloggers would be so generous as to donate their time, but I also thought it would be a FUN way for those of us that know each other via twitter/facebook/blogs to actually meet in person.

Sunday October 2nd, myself and some of my friends and fellow bloggers [including Sweaty Emily and Hungry Mom on The Run] will be stuffing race packets at The Greater Washington Sports Alliance, the former headquarters for the National Marathon. For a running geek such as myself, this is a super fun opportunity to hang out with fellow runners, and meet and talk with some bloggers I have never met!! We still need about 8 more people to join us.
On the 6th and 7th of October race packet pickup and registration is being held at the YMCA Reston. This race benefits the YMCA, so it is only natural that we will be holding packet pick up there. Shifts are short and if you are running a race that weekend you do not have to stand the whole time. I’ll make sure there are chairs for you to rest your feet!!

Race day is the 8th and we need people to stand on course and make sure runners and walkers are going the correct direction. Once the last runner/walker goes by your job is done. This means you can head over to Reston Town Center and enjoy the music and BEER!
If you can’t help out please consider blogging about our [ok MY] need for volunteers!!
