National Marathon was the first time I’ve ever run with music during a race. I typically like to be present in the moment, but for this particular race I knew that I would need an extra little kick, some more pep in my step, to deal with the sleepless nights that come with having a baby.
Thanks to my twitter and facebook friends, who gave me some great song suggestions, I came up with a pretty awesome play list and only hit skip once or twice. During the hard miles in Anacostia I even hit repeat on a couple of songs to get me through. I’m still debating whether I’ll run with music at Boston.
Here are some of the songs that got me through my last 26.2!

"Back to the Future" title theme!
No? Just me? OK.
Some of my favorite running songs are on there! I'm debating running my marathon with music even though I never train with it. I just get so pumped when I hear a power song and it could help in the later miles. Opinions?
THANK you so much for this! I'm sitting here working on a playlist for this weekends half right now!
Ok, your list is good… BUT… "Meet me halfway" by the Black Eyed Peas is the WORST running song ever. The LAST thing I need to hear when I am racing is Fergie whining "I can't go on any further than this". Seriously!
I posted my play list here… feel free to steal some and there are some great suggestions in the comments. My fav running song is "Fighter" by Christina Aguilera.
